March with Modern Wagoneerr Sam

This beautifully designed layout although I take a crooked photograph. I found at Let's Scrap challenge site. I have less than a month to finish my scrapbook and I feel like I am so far behind that I may not make it! But at least I am taking in some crafty time fun! That has been my main focus lately searching for new places, sites, and groups to join in some fun challenges and make some new crafty friends as well as take on a challenge or two!

I recently was searching for a paper challenge site where the groups are not stagnant like at Paper Craft Planet. Don't get me wrong my current design team Digistamps4Joy has a group located at Paper Craft Planet but most of the groups at PCP have been stagnant not just for months, some haven't had a topic for years. I sent the owner of the site Suzanne Boyd a message about this, her advice rather than delete these groups and clean up house at her Ning site, was for me to step right in to the groups and get them fired up again. Why would I want to step on someone's toes and just start taking over their group? That just doesn't seem right to me.

I joined  a couple groups at PCP and I started taking on old stagnant challenges, some groups it encouraged others to start chatting again but others not a word, just silence. I found a challenge group I thought I could possibly kick start into gear, but being that it was started by someone else I decided to send her a message asking if she would relinquish her group to me. That didn't work out, the group has been silenced so long that I never received a response.

I found the Anything Goes group which isn't really anything goes challenges that I have noticed it is mostly Random Happies, where you send someone from that group a random greeting card, and they also do Holiday card swaps where you pick a silly holiday in the month you join and send cards to group members. I joined Anything Goes and the Cuttle-buggers group.  The cuttle-buggers started to clear the cob webs and get it going again.. YAY!

Feel free if you have a challenge site that you think I may want to try out please let me know in my comments section! I would love to stop by!

Modern Wagoneer Sams Month Two

Here she is, page two of my Scrapbook for the Modern Wagoneer Sam Oklahoma Chapter. Yes, I am way behind on getting this Scrapbbok made. I am at a rush to get it done and I am not sure at this point if I am following the guidelines for the competition or not.

I am designing my layouts from the challenges at HOME AND SCRAPPED. For this layout it was a fun game of tic-tac-toe and my line of three items are the color black, stars, and cogs. I incorporated all three items in my page for the challenge!

If you have a really good eye you can look at my first layout and you may recognize the gray paper on the background. My objects in my first layout were cut from this piece and I incorporated the scraps out of the stash!

Popsicley Deliciousness!

I feel crafty mojo running through my veins this weekend!! Woo-hoo! Having a blast! I decided to mosey on over to the Fabulous Cricut Challenge Blog and see what kind of challenges I could attempt today.

Just so happened there was this cute tutorial on how to make a Popsicle shaped card. It is so easy! For my card I used the phrase "You Warm My Heart", the scalloped oval, and on the inside of the card is the cut word "I Love You" all of these were cut out on my Cricut machine. I admit to you now that I did not break out the Cricut machine today, I know its almost like cheating, but I already had all of these cut from some Valentines I had made a few years ago for cards that I had sent to our soldiers. Love it when I can use up some of my stash! :)

The Popsicle stick was the hard part to find. I heard the ice cream man music playing, as we always do on Saturdays in the summer, we scrambled for our dollars, run outside and he's already passed the house and he's not even driving slow enough for anyone to be able to get anything without chasing him down the street. So we gave up on that.

Then I remembered my hubby bought me something for Christmas that had some glue and I remembered seeing Popsicle sticks, I searched through every little box of stuff I have stashed here and there. I finally found it and it was just one stick. But hey, I was able to finish my card, punched the corner with my circle scalloped punch to give it that bite. And what a YUMMY delightful card I have to give to my sweetie when needed!

Cyber Crop!

So there I was surfing the internet for challenge sites and there she was, Home! Home and Scrapped that is! (giggles) It all started early Saturday morning Australia time, it was late into the night for me here in the states! But I was eager to take part in my first ever Cyber Crop! Every 20 minutes you receive a step by step process of making a Scrapbook page layout, it was so much fun!  Here's my creation during Saturday August 24th's Cyber Crop over at Home And Scrapped!

For my scrapbook page I decided to start on the much needed scrapbook I am to finish within the next month from the past years events for my RVing Good Sam Club chapter of Oklahoma the Modern Wagoneer Sams.

Toilet Paper Crafts?

In the Cuttle-buggers group at Paper Craft Planet we were challenged to try this technique using toilet paper. You can locate the technique at this website:

http://www.blockheadstamps.com/TechniquesPages/tp-embossedpaper.html

The embossing folder is by Cuttlebug it is called Mary Ann. After mine dried, I used an Inky Roller and ran it through my baby blue stamp pad and just rolled it over the embossed toilet paper. The handmade flower embellishment I won back in the Fall of 2010 at a card challenge site called Simply Scrapping Crafts from the Scrapbook Challenge that a girl named Emily was hostessing. SHe hand made me these beautiful fabric embellishments!

Stenciling with Your Spellbinders!

In the Cuttle-buggers group at Paper Craft Planet We were challenged to stencil using your Spellbinders in the Cuttle-bug. For my card I used the stencil shown below. Do you have a Cuttle-bug? Want to know more of what crafty kind of stuff you can do with it? You should join in the challenges at Paper Craft Planet. The Cuttle-buggers are looking for more participants! In my card I used the flower cut border that is at least 3 years old, I cut it when I first received my baby Cricut machine.

To help me with my card making skills. I am currently in Class 3 of Color Me Creative Classes taught by Suzanne Dean. I am learning how to color darker skin tones at the moment and this image I used as a practice piece. I apologize for the novice coloring.. practice makes perfect right! I am really enjoying the classes, Suzanne is a very classy, smart, talented artist and I can say she is an absolute sweetheart; I have met her in person so I can attest to that!

She has inspired me to want to take my Copics to the next level, after I feel more comfortable with my skills from my classes my goal is to pursue my Copic Intermediate Certification and help other crafters in my area become familiar with using their Copic markers.

Folding Tea Bags?

No, no, no, we are not folding tea bags. When we say we are making a tea  bag fold there are a ton of different paper or fabric folds that are referred to as a tea bag fold. Over at Paper Craft Planet in the Cuttle-Buggers group they challenged us to make a tea bag fold. I decided to take this challenge! I had no clue what a tea bag fold even is. I google searched online for it and found a link to a Pinterest page with several to choose from. I picked one and went with it. I didn't think I was accomplishing it, but once I had my pieces folded and put together it looks pretty neat.
