Happy New Year!

My daughter is going out tonight for New Years so I whipped her up a pair of New Years Eve glasses to take with her!

Okay, for all you cutting machine users out there; I decided I would tell you how I made these. First off, I searched for New Years 2016 glasses on internet, I found this photo below

Using this photo, I imported into my Silhouette Cameo software; which is what I use most for my cutting machine projects these days. Once I had this picture in my library,I pulled it up on screen and using the trace feature, uncheck high pass filter box and click the trace option. Okay, so you will have a red outlined image similar to the one you have traced. I had to use my erase feature to remove the image of the stick protruding off the side, after it is removed you add in connecting lines to fill the space. At the top tool bar there is a option to offset, be sure you have clicked on image and then click Offset. Two options come up offset and internal offset, click offset. You will now have double red lines around your  image. Click the images and drag one away making sure that it is the original picture that you offset and delete it. You will now be left with your glasses to send to the cutting machine! Woot!
I used a thick glitter paper and on first try the card stock option did not work, so I cut mine with the chip board setting and adjusted my blade to 5. Cut like a charm, I added the stick and there you have your first pair of New Years glasses for the festivities! Have Fun!

Have I mentioned how much I am loving my Silhouette Cameo? This is one of the designs at the Silhouette store. I decided to use this card design for my Anysoldier.com Card Swap.

End of Road Tile

Good Afternoon, Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all of you! Today I am sharing a custom tile. I made for my dear friends niece Christmas gift who also happens to be Jenny, the baby sister of my best friend Deanna who I have known for 33 years. Their Aunt Jana is my crafty friend, she gave me the phrase and I ran with it! I really love how it turned out!

Psalm 19 Tile

My dear friend came over for a Craft Social as you may know from previous postings. We had a great time making handmade gifts to give her family for the Christmas holiday. My crafty friend just so happens to be the Aunt of my best friend Deanna who I have known for 33 years!! Deanna was asked what her favorite bible verse was, and she said Psalm 19. So I took a couple lines from the verse and put them on a custom tile for her Aunt to give her for Christmas. It turned out so nice with the cross and praying hands.

Personalized Coffee Cups

Last week a friend of mine came over for a Craft Social. We were making last minute holiday gifts for her family. We had found a project on Pinterest where you take a sticker type letter, in our case a vinyl cut letter from my Silhouette Cameo machine, and we were going to speckle with Sharpies peel off the letter and bake in oven. After seeing how luxurious these cups looked with the font type she picked for her initials, we couldn't resist to leave them as is. They look so elegant!

Cake Platter

Here is a vinyl lettering on a cake platter I made for a friend. I had planned to fill with sweets before she came over for a Craft Social, but I didn't get it finished in time for the holidays, but that is fine I will just fill with sweets before I see her next time!
I found the idea on Pinterest of course!

Coffee tastes better with Friends

My first Silhouette Cameo file traced and cut image placed on a mug! I am so pleased with how it turned out! I searched the internet for images of friends having tea or coffee to go with the phrase I chose of "Coffee tastes better with Friends."  Once I found the image I saved to my computer. I opened my Silhouette program and imported the image to my library. Once in the library I was able to open the file and use my trace option. Be sure to uncheck high pass filter and then you will click on the trace option. I click on the image and drag it away to see what the cut file will look like in the end and use my erase tool to clean up specks if any. Then I cut using my Cameo and placed onto the mug!

My Decorated Tree

There she is with all her might and sparkle. My traditional Christmas tree with the Angel on top, many handmade ornaments from my childhood, my children's, and even a few from my mother in law who we have not seen in fifteen years. Family and keeping traditions alive mean a lot to me during the holidays. Christmas is my favorite holiday maybe its because of all the decorations and colorful lights, or it may be the joyful spirit of the person jingling the Salvation Army bell while singing the holiday songs. My inner child comes out to play this time of year most of all. I love seeing so many smiling cheerful faces during this time of year.

Friendly Dragon Scarf

Hot off the Hook is this adorable friendly little dragon scarf! I merged two patterns I found online and changed what were horns into ears and gave him some hair to make him look just that much friendlier! My only complaint would be that he is not quite long enough and if I were to actually expect anyone to use this as a scarf I would make it longer, otherwise I think any child would love to have him as a companion!

Want to make your own dragon the FREE pattern is located here http://sixlittlemice.blogspot.com.au/2013/08/dragon-scarf-pattern.html

Love Butterflies Wall Art

So excited that my shadow box was shipped and I was able to create this beautiful piece of wall art for my cousin as a surprise! That is, if she isn't following my blog, which I don't think she is. I used my Silhouette Cameo and a cut file to create the butterflies and then I wrote the name with my Silhouette using the Silhouette pens. I just love how it turned out!

Catty Crafters

I am taken back a little by the responses I received from my posting about a non-responsive seller in one of the Facebook groups I was (keyword was) a member of. One group actually wants to promote the old saying "if you have nothing nice say nothing at all" and they even stated to allow your fellow crafters to be ripped off and find out on their own rather than informing their fellow crafters of their experiences with the bad business practices of the vendors. The group shares files of svg's so it was a little disappointing to leave the group. But I cannot stay if I don't agree with their policy, I cannot stay in a group and stand by watching someone getting screwed over and stick my head in the sand it just isn't right. Not to mention how am I to know that they are not incahoots with the very business that is getting so many bad reviews. No THANK YOU! I cannot stand to see women sit around with their heads in the sand and act like the victims are the ones at fault for posting about their bad experience so that they can possibly find another way to contact the sellers since the seller was not responding to numerous emails and messages regarding the status of their order. It boils my blood for someone to actually say let the customers/fellow crafting friends be screwed over and find out on their own, are you kidding me???

Craft Vendor Issues

I am having an issue and found a page that I

can post it on without offending to many fellow

crafters... Are you having an issue with a vendor

or supplier? Maybe you LOVE your vendor or

supplier whatever the situation, post about them

here! I have and after a month of placing my

order and 2 weeks of sending emails asking on

the status and getting no response back, I

posted my complaint here on the page I am

linking below and within hours the seller

responded! Now I wait to see if I get my refund

so I can remove my negative posting and go on

with a happier rest of the year!

Someone posted in one of my Facebook Silhouette Cameo/Cricut cutting groups to buy their vinyl and Santa Sacks from this seller. Their shipping dates off by more like 6- 8 weeks for delivery and customer service is beyond the worst! If you want a refund you have to dispute because they do not answer email correspondence or personal messages.

NOV 9th I was sent this message.

1st Vinyl Tile Project Redo

For my personal tile I decided to redo the wedding date at the bottom. You can see in the post that I posted yesterday. how it is different. I enlarged the font and now I like it better! I am going to seal it, and in a few days my stand should have arrived and I can find a place in my home to display my work of art!

Crochet Wool Wristers

For what I'm labeling as yesterday's Operation One Skein, i not only made a cover for my paper clip canister, a wool hat, I was able to also get a pair of matching wristlets!

Crochet Wool Slouchy Hat

For what I'm labeling as yesterday's Operation One Skein, I not only made a cover for my paper clip canister, I also made this Wool Hat!

Crochet Paper Clip Cover

Had some yarn left from yesterdays project, it wasn't enough to do anything with or so I thought. I made a little pouch thinking it would make a cute little purse for something adding a loop to close with a button. Once finished I started looking for something to put it on. It fit perfectly on my paper clip container. Lol!
