Last week the memo went out that we can decorate our break rooms as long as customers cannot see it. We are not allowed to use the company card, so my head went to brain storming. What will I do? I crochet up a mini stocking but that won’t be enough. I had these trees stuffed in a drawer, an empty Amazon box, a white gel pen, toilet paper, a handmade paper garland, I am golden! I used a few die cut punches for the trim. I am pleased with how it turned out. I didn’t like seeing cords hanging along the back wall, so I made paper fans to cover them. I wanted to do snowflakes but wasn’t sure if I’d be able to make as large as I needed with the supplies I already had on hand. I am pleased with how it turned out, and maybe next year I can add to it, or do something even better!

Wood Burning Fun!

 

Hello again friends and followers!

I have had this cabinet door sitting for over a year with this image penciled onto it, so that one day I would wood burn it into the door. I have no project in mind for it, I just wanted to do it for fun. And to play around with my new wood burning kit.

 I wood burned a squirrel image onto a piece of pine I believe in the 6th grade. I tried again for a camp site sign for my husband and I. It turned out really good, I will have to find it and post a picture if I haven’t already. 

So this would be my 3rd project with trying wood burning.  It was fun and definitely kept me busy after work and on weekends when I wasn’t doing chores or playing with my pets.

Hey there again! 

Today I am sharing this simple card I made using an image I colored up about 10 years ago. I wish I knew who the artist was at this moment, but as soon as I figure it out I will update this posting. I have had these images in my stash for some time and finally decided to get them on a card. I believe I received this image at Crafters Digital Art Center or CDAC. I loved that site, miss it actually. I liked that many digi artists had groups on the site and offered freebies right there. There were challenges and tutorials, it was kind of like The Outlawz Challenges but a bit more, in my opinion. :) Don’t get me wrong I am the go to advocate for The Outlawz Challenges. I left for a few years and missed it terribly and now I vow to never leave until it is no more. That is, at least for as long as I am divulging in a paper craft hobby. :) I am currently the Design Team Leader for Twisted Thursdays as well as a Designer on Tuesdays Color challenges. I ran the Monday Greetings challenges for a few years when I joined. The Outlawz is a wonderful family of talented paper crafters. We have a new challenge every day of the week, a Progressive Freebie challenge, sketch challenges on Wednesdays, just so much fun and so many ideas to inspire you.

Cardinal Christmas

 

Hello again friends and followers! 

I wanted to share the card I whipped up usingthis beautiful image of a cardinal I received in the Katarina Coloring Group on Facebook. You can find the group here

 I had this great holiday paper with winter birds and felt it was perfect for this image! 

For my card I layered the design paper over the teal paper and added the die cut frame I believe I received from Whimsy stamps under the layered papers to frame my image. If I find this die is not from Whimsy I will try to remember to correct my post.

Splitting a Damask Motif

Isn’t she the cutest! I colored her up with my Copic Markers, added some pieces of various design papers, and toppped it off with this beautiful die I cut two in half to created the corner borders. The die is from Spellbinders Shapeabilities in the Damask Motifs.
