Stocking Twist

I found this great idea on Pinterest! It is suppose to look like a sled. I ran out Christmas eve to the local grocery picked up two King size Kit Kat's, a bag of the small Hershey chocolate minis, and a box of candy canes! Use a Cuttlebug tag punch made some tags and with a little shipping tape, holiday bow and fun ribbon I had this completed in a matter of minutes! It was a nice change than going over board on the pocket buying bags and bags of stuff to put in stocking.

Holiday cards Received

Besides sparkly holiday lights and festive music, my favorite thing about the holidays is the mail and cards I receive! So far this year I have been blessed with great friends and family who have not forgotten to let me know that I am in their thoughts. May all of you have this same inner joy and happiness from someone who thinks and cares for you. :) Have a wonderful holiday season.

 Merry Christmas!

Spread Cheer with Handmade Cards

I had a few more children on my list to send cards to this year some of which are having health issues and this may very well be their last Christmas.

This season I wanted to give to others so I joined a group on Facebook called Show Them We Care and I have really been trying to do all I can which right now consists of just being able to send a handmade card.

I hope in the future to be able to help others with more needy families during the holidays especially.

Cards For Children

It has been a very crafty and productive day today. I have quite a few crochet projects going at once or on my to do list but needed to finish some cards for a group request. I joined a Facebook group called Show Them You Care. In that group a teacher posted asking for cards for her 13 children in her class. Being the handmade card maker I am and wanting to use up more of my old scrap supplies I decided to whip up some cards with holiday erasers attached for the children. I hope they like them!

Crochet Teen/Adult Sully Hat

Here it is, my first ever Teen/Adult Sully inspired hat. I had a little trouble getting going on this project as the pattern for the hat I found online in 6-12 months did not have directions for a larger size. I am a beginner at this and do not know the first thing about enlarging a pattern, so I had to do a little research to find myself a pattern in the size I needed for a crochet order. It worked out perfectly!

The pattern I used for the hat is located here

Crochet Holiday Stocking

I spent yesterday and a little time this morning making this adorable holiday stocking. It is unfinished at the moment but I could not wait to share. I plan on crocheting a tab to hang it from and adding a silver letter for the name of whomever I give this to. :)

I found the pattern for this stocking here!

Celebrate National Cat Day!

October 29, 2014 is

National Cat Day

Today is National Cat Day! “What greater gift than the love of a cat?” Charles Dickens once mused. Cats are one of the most beloved human companions of all time. They were first domesticated in the Middle East’s Fertile Crescent as early as 12,000 years ago. When humans relied on hunting as their main source of food, dogs were most useful – but when the first agricultural societies emerged, cats became invaluable. Domesticated cats became responsible for keeping grain stores free of mice and other rodents. Today, cats can be found in 34% of American households, making them the most popular house pet in the United States.
Pet lifestyle expert and animal welfare advocate Colleen Paige established National Cat Day in 2005. In honor of the occasion, celebrate cats and the unconditional love and companionship they give to their owners. If you don't own a cat, volunteer at your local animal shelter or make a donation. It’s the purrrrfect way to show you care!

Unfinished Chain Loop Cowl

First attempt at this beautiful Chain Loop Cowl. I need a large button for that button hole but so far this is what it looks like! I had started it for a friend who requested a scarf from me. She has yet to find out that I thought of her when making this, so when I finally get that button and complete it I will see if she likes it!

Red Hat Ladies themed handbag

I joined a Mystery Crochet a long a few weeks back and once I finished the project, I had a request for another handbag in Red Hat Ladies colors from a new Pen Pal friend. I like new challenges, so I whipped up another bag not really liking the colors throughout the project until I finished, and then I took a second look and thought it really turned out well! She loves it from the photos just wait till she receives it! It looks even better in person!

You can fine the pattern here.
