Bob Ross Inspired

Hello friends and followers!

I am trying to get my crafty mojo back with my new life of being a Full Time Employee and I am feeling more like my life is getting back in order. I can concentrate on being crafty and relaxing again! Yay!
This past weekend I decided to break out the canvas and do some Acrylic painting. This painting is inspired by Bob Ross Season 12 Episode 10

Winter at the Farm

I need to take my mind off of things going on in my life right now and so I sought out a project that would take up most of my concentration which is Acrylic painting. I grew up with Bob Ross, so why not watch his oil painting videos and see what.I can do with acrylics. Here is my version of “Winter at the farm” inspired by Episode 5 Season 27

The Mermaid

To follow everyone's lead on “MerMay” I decided I would attempt to draw an image onto a canvas and paint a mermaid.

Mystic Mountain

Over the weekend I was inspired by Bob Ross! I decided to attempt his painting called majestic mountain, of course it is in my own style as he uses oil paint and I am using acrylics, not to mention this is like my 8th painting ever and he is a master painter.

Portrait of Winter

Inspired By Bob Ross- “Portrait of Winter“ Season 24 Episode 11

Hello friends and followers! This evening I finished up my 2nd ever Winter Acrylic Painting. You may have noticed most of my painting is inspired by Bob Ross. Bob Ross was an oil painter, it is much different than acrylics, and one thing I learned never to expect my work even if I were using oils to look like Bob Ross or any other artists paintings for that matter.  Make the painting your own, and here I have created my own version of Portrait of Winter coming to life...

By Sunday evening, I was ready for a break. I picked the brush back up Monday afternoon and finished up my painting.

A Perfect Winters Day

I hadnt painted in a few weeks, and the hubby was starting to question whether I had already given up painting. I am a hobbyist so I like dabbling in all sorts of hobbies as you know. Last night, I pulled out the canvas, grabbed some paint and decided on a winter theme. I found a beautiful painting from Bob Ross’s Season 29, Episode 11 that inspired me.

I spent hours trying to get my clouds just right. I ended up cleaning up the paint, and sleeping on it for a night, and after many more hours this morning I settled for my clouds.

Next up, getting a mountain peak added that wasn’t repetitive triangle shapes. A distant forest at the edge of the mountains, and finished up with a grouping of winter foliage before allowing to dry before my next step.. the cabin. Eek!

I was as nervous as the first day my hubby brought acrylic paint and a boat load of canvases for me to begin painting for the very first time. One thing about painting, when you finally get your painting looking good, you are very apprehensive about adding more to it, in fear you will mess it all up. After a little work, and more paint, the cabin was complete. I added a little more foliage, and some highlights. By bedtime, my painting was completed. :)

In all honesty, it may be the best one I have painted so far.

Sunset Landscape

Hey friends and followers, have I told you how much I love my new hobby! I am having so much fun! It is not easy thats for sure, if you mess up a little but you let it dry, sand it up to smooth back down and start again. This painting I decided to steer off my plan of Bob Ross Painting along, to make something for my sons birthday. With my 27 year old in mind, and he loves wolves enough to get a wolf tattoo, I made him a wolf painting. I hope he likes it enough to hang it in his walls.

Gray Mountain

Hello friends and followers! Today I am sharing my second attempt at an Acrylic painting inspired by Bob Ross, this one is inspired by Bob Ross’s “Gray Mountain” from Season 24-Episode 1. My daughter took me to Pinot’s Palette for my 48th birthday. We had so much fun we went back two weeks later, after the second class, our local hobby stores had a 50- 70% off of all painting supplies. Now we both have easels, paint and canvases to continue our newfound hobby. Twenty five years ago, I dabbled with Acrylics, I painted holiday figurine ornaments, but I never had the courage to attempt painting on canvas.
Yesterday, my daughter brought her supplies over, and we had a paint session. We painted our own versions of this painting. It is so fun to see two totally different takes on the one picture. I will post photos below of our paintings, that I think should be a two picture set since they look so good together.
