New Challenges
I have been tearing the paper up in here! I can honestly tell you I have ink on my hands!! Call me a crafter! The top picture is what I created from Emily's sketch challenge and the bottom is from Clare's Card Challenge!
HAPPY DANCE!! I was featured!
How exciting I have been listed as one of the featured members it is so exciting! I would like to thank everyone involved with for giving me the inspiration to create wonderful projects! A lot of changes were taking place at SSC at the end of 2010. I had only been a member for a few months and things started changing around there. Not that I cared to much, I have joined so many crafty sites in the last 6 months that it just gives me more places to look for different challenges.
That is until.... I was asked to be on the DESIGN TEAM!! I AM SO EXCITED!
I am excited to be asked in the first place I noticed most web sites ask for crafty peeps to send in the applications to be in their design team. What is funny even if I had been doing cards for 20 years I am not the type of person to put myself out there. If I am asked on the other hand it just makes it that much more special! :)
I love challenges and I know everyone else will love it as much as I do. I use to sit for hours brain storming trying to come up with different ideas. I new nothing and still do not know a lot about different products to use and how to use them, but the internet will be your best friend in this case! The challenges have helped me step out of my box and into someone else's .. so to speak, and to take away ideas for how to put the project together but yet put them to use in your own way.
I am very excited about the upcoming months of being on the DESIGN TEAM. (Didn't even get to do anything really- site sits stagnant most of the time)

It was a GREAT day!
What a wonderful beautiful sunny awesome day it was today,79 degrees, a free car wash @ the Boomerang, received my GIRL SCOUT COOKIES for me and to send the soldiers & had a great brunch with a friend I have known for 27 years but hadn't seen in 20, seen my husbands best bud behind me at the stop light after brunch, and all the sudden my power window quit working, what's up with that? Lol! I think he was giving me some of his bad luck for a second there. He's been going through a rough time right now. But I called his cell and he pulled over and helped me shut it. The next great thing is that Lenscrafter's replaced my son's expensive lenses and frames for $25 , woo-hoo! I thought for sure we were going to have to replace them both. While I waited on my glasses I went to one of my good friends from high schools work (Another Optical Store) and had a great time chatting with her. I usually do not see any of my old friends but once every year or 2 and it was a nice change to my uneventful days. Then to top off a wonderful day I was asked to be a DESIGN TEAM member for Simply Scrapping Crafts! I KNOW! I am fairly new to the card making as you know if you have been keeping up with my blog, but I love a challenge! I think I can handle it!

Card Challenge
I made this for a card challenge.
Placed some paper Quilled hearts and music notes on the side to give it more of a "Feelin Groovy" feel! The Flower cutout was created using a neat technique, not even sure how to explain it but check the link above for the tutorial.Saturday, January 8, 2011

SSC Holiday Blog Hop!! Inspired by Clare
This ornament was inspired by Clare from the SSC Holiday Blog Hop! Why let this kitty remain in the Christmas tub for another year, he's been kept there for 15 years! A year after my husband and I were married we were living in a rent house that the landlord told us to go through everything that was in the shed and keep what we wanted and donate the rest this kitty just so happened to be amongst the goodies! How blessed we were to acquire a lot of nice Christmas decorations that year that I still have to this day. I am so thankful to Clare for inspiring me to give this kitty a happy home every year on the Christmas tree!
Stamp & Scrap Corner Challenge Week 1
This weeks challenge was to distress your project. My distressing is the torn edges of the paper as well as I used distress ink on the paper and on the stamped music image.
Copic Challenge Week 1
For this card we were instructed to use the colors red & green. I colored the image with my copic markers and put on some glittery stickles as well as the snowflakes and added a little bling in each. I used a border punch for the trees.

Color Combo Challenge Week 1
The color combo challenge consists of making a project with hues of blue and adding a star. For this card I added some sticker embellishments, as well as a stamptechnique for the snow & sky affect. The Christmas tree in the background was handmade by my late mother using coat hangers, and garland!
Card Corner Challenge Week 1
This weeks challenge was to use music notes on your project. When starting this card I had nothing, so off to the Hobby store! I purchased the music stamp, stamped on the paper using distress ink, stamped sentiment with distress ink, embossed ivy onto sentiment, and embellished with some stickers and bows.
