Card Corner Challenge Week 2

For this challenge we had to use an animal plus four of these colors Brown, Blue, Gold, Green, Aqua, and Pink. The elephant image I found as a freebie digi somewhere.. I'll get back to ya on that one~!:) The balloons were made from my Cuttlebug die cut of tags. I practiced some more with my Copic markers when coloring the elephant.

Stamp & Scrap Corner Challenge Week 2

This weeks challenge is to use a layout and 3 colors only.

Color Combo Challenge Week 2

This weeks challenge was to use the color of the rainbow in your card as well as the word Happy or a word meaning happy. I used my stamp pads to sponge on a scenic background and then put on some puffy hearts and some rainbow ribbon. I am not sure as to why my late Grandfather had a bag of puffy hearts but some how I ended up with them so I gave them a purpose!

Anysoldier.com Christmas Card Swap

For my first set of cards I asked all my family and friends on Facebook if they had any left over cards from years previous that they don't mind parting with. Would they mind donating them to me for the swap. Lucky for me... I had one response out of at least 140 peeps in my friends list that were willing to send me her old cards.

I want to give a BIG Thank you to Rose!

A long time friend, she is REMARKABLE!! I received the BIGGEST box of cards from her! I never expected to receive that many and all from one person! She is so AWESOME!

So I split two  sets of the cards she sent to make a set of 20 for my first set. Then for the second set she had sent me some cards that are for Christmas photos I turned some old Christmas card advertisements into new and improved cards! Take a looksy at what I came up with for my 2 sets of cards to donate for the Christmas card swap that Amy is hosting!

Anysoldier.com Thanksgiving Card Swap

This was the first time I have ever been a hostess for a swap. I was so nervous. Will I have room for all the cards that are to arrive in the mail? Will I do well at sorting making sure each and every one of us get one of each card. It was a great success! Here is what I received for my sets to send to the soldier units I am helping!

Copic Marker Classes

I have joined in a Copic marker class. I never realized I would have so much trouble coloring. I love to color and I have always been so good at it.. until now. I am hoping to get a lot out of this free class! I am so thankful for web sites and these wonderful ladies for giving me the opportunity to learn something from them. So our 1st assignment was basically learning what markers to purchase that make good blending families and even with that info I still didn't buy the exact right shades on my trips to Hobby Lobby. Which led me to another purchase of markers from Carpe Diem for $3.95 a marker, a steal compared to what I had to pay at Hobby Lobby! Yet again I did better this time around but ended up purchasing two of the same colors I already had. For my first coloring assignment I submitted my first picture didn't hold back.

I wasn't feeling it with the markers they seem so loose on the tips I am use to stiffer cheap markers.. like Crayola! :) But I submitted my assignment above and the teach Lisa suggested I color from dark to light on the dress and I looked at the other classmates submissions and I tried again...

I felt much better about the way my dress looked on my second try.

Color Combo Challenge Week 1

It just so happend that my second challenge the color combo choices were the same colors as my first November challenge. Boy, what a challenge it was to create something this week!

Card Corner Challenge Week 1

I will admit these colors for a Christmas scene I could not seem to get anything to look good. So here is what I came up with for the challenge.   I'm not liking this card at all.

Thanksgiving Card Swap Success!

I volunteered to Hostess the Thanksgiving Card Swap 2010 at Anysoldier.com. IT was a SUCCESS! I sorted all the packages and repackaged them in 2 hours! I will mail them out tomorrow for their recipients to mail to the soldier units they are helping. It is so awesome to be a part of such a special group of people!
