Ladybug, Ladybug fly away...

But WAIT!! Don't fly away yet we need a to have a photo shoot! I have been waiting for this moment to try out my new macro lens the hubby bought me for Christmas. I will tell you this; between my shaking and the great Oklahoma wind gusts it was extremely difficult, but I managed to get a few pretty good shots of the Little Lady on this beautiful Spring morning.

TIE Tuesday!!!

It's Tuesday and if your reading this you made it through the dreaded Monday blues.  I was awakened at 5 AM by my husband's phone. He had a guy actually call in sick that early. I have no clue as to why it couldn't have waited till after 7. But I am staying positive and enjoying my peaceful day. I think I see a little sun peeping through the clouds this morning which brings a smile to my face! My rose bushes look AMAZING!! I decided to prune them up and play with my Canon camera. My rose bushes have a special place in my heart, they were my mother's and when she lost her battle to Colon Cancer I transplanted them to my yard as well as her daffodills. Here are some of the shots I took when photographing them. Don't forget tonight is your last chance enter for the surprise blog candy! Look for Jellybeans.. not my little Pomeranian named Jellybean but a photo of actual candy! :D

Simple, but Clean and Spring!

Hello everyone! Happy Good Friday to you! If your Catholic you can pass your bacon and sausage over to my family they are viscous meat eaters! Lol! I had no clue till a week ago while dining at our favorite Mexican restaurant that they fast for 40 days! No meat! My family would go ballistic! I wish I was kidding if there isn't meat in the meal they are not happy. Not to mention I was also told that Cinco De Mayo is not for them, it is for us just another reason for America to blow money and celebrate. This was told to me by a true native Mexican - American, his mother is still fearing for her life and land in Mexico from all the drug cartel and fighting. I love his stories, he is the friendliest and one of the best waiters I have ever had, and not bad looking. :D Now for some crafty chatter!

Here is my creation for the fun Spring CAS Challenge on Sundays at The Outlawz! I used a layout I found by another CAS creator (Will Provide Link when I find her again). I am still working on using stamps that are not wood mounted. I just cannot seem to get a good stamped image out of them if they are not on a block of wood. Not to mention the sentiment is crooked as well, what do you do? At least I just create for fun with no intention on selling any of my works, that is unless someone actually said they were interested I would be ecstatic!!!

My Favorite Things Kills Flies

First off, I have to thank Fred & his wife Rae for allowing us to check this battery operated bug killer out! I would still be trying my luck with the old plastic swatter had we not went and picked one of these up! The bug frying sound they make when the bodies pop off that electric wiring scares me every time I kill one. Seriously, I jump and scream and kill all at the same time...lol... but it is so much fun! And I don't know about you but I have already been seeing flies around and I don't like them!  You don't either? So, go get you one at Harbor Freight Tools before Easter Sunday.. YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Easter Bonnets & Colored Eggs

The freebie image challenges end tonight at CDAC! Here's my latest creations from the freebies!

Sock It To Me!

Isn't this the cutest project! It is socks! What a great way to give socks!  I have been thinking of so many great people to give something like this to! When I gave birth to my first born almost 19 years ago, someone in the hospital brought all the new mother's  small ivy starter plants. I thought it was so cute and such a great idea! This Sock It To Me gift would be great too don't you think as a new mother gift! Mine has Dr. Scholl's socks with rubber grippy stuff that feels so weird! You just want to keep touching it!

Another great gift receiver of this item is to give them out at nursing homes. I really always think & pray about everyone staying there do they have any family left, are they visited often, were they forgotten. It makes me sad. I have never known really anyone in my family that have lived long enough to be placed in a nursing home, I guess there is some positive things to that, I never had to see the sadness in their faces, or the loneliness.  I take that back my Grandmother had Alzheimer's and was living with my Uncle when she was sent to a nursing home. I will tell you she seemed happier than I had ever seen her in my life. She seemed sane, I mean that with all do respect but she was off a bit and I know where I get my crazy side. Any how, she was fixing her hair and even put on lipstick when we visited. She had a boyfriend in the nursing home too. I can't believe I almost forgot all about that moment in time. But I worry about when they don't feel so happy, receiving something like this Sock it to Me gift would bright anyone's day! Plus the recipient can keep the socks in the cup at all times when they are clean so they know where to find them! :D

Okay so how can you make one of these? I know I am very long winded when I am excited about a project! Go to CDAC for the tutorial!

In Memory of those who lost their lives in the Oklahoma City Bombing

As quoted couldn't have said it any better than this.
Always remember....never forget our 168 citizens that tragically lost lives 16 years ago at the hands of a coward and his cowardly friends. United we Stand....Together we Respond. May God Bless those that died and those that were injured. We will never forget.

Bunny Birthday

Every Friday it is the Copic Color Challenge at THE OUTLAWZ! This cute colorful card was my entry for this challenge. I entered this card into 2 challenges this week. My second entry was where I picked this image up, it is being offered as a free digi for a short time and I entered it in the CDAC Challenge.

I found a tutorial on easel card making and turned the above layout into my first easel card!

Time For Tea

Free Digi from CDAC!

Isn't this cute! It holds a tea bag! It is the perfect little thank you gift! I new when I seen this tea pot image it would be perfect for this project!

Found my HAPPY PANTS!!

My Thursday started out great! I woke up early. I even cooked breakfast for my daughter before she went to school. I know some people do that everyday but I haven't been. I felt great about it too! My hubby went to work today so I was able to color with my Copics and finish lots of projects! My hubby even took me to lunch and ate Salmon, YUM! It was all going so well. But not everyone can handle staying happy for very long and before you know it my HAPPY PANTS were ripped from me.

Of course it was basicly over something small. The hubby still doesn't know after 17 years where to find cleaning rags or he just wanted someone as in me to get it for him. I don't know but somewhere in the translation it turned for the worse. Every thing is fine now we had a little spat, but it took the creative flow right out of me. I clean up my work space really well when I am not so happy.

But then it all changed when I finally sat down to read my email. I FOUND MY HAPPY PANTS!  That's right I was sent an email and it all changed, I went to THE OUTLAWZ. There it was in the Greeting Card Challenge, just under my name it reads Co-leader!!! YAY for me!! IF I wasn't already giving away Blog Candy I would give some away to celebrate my promotion!! Thank you Colleen, The OUTLAWZ, and all of my followers for giving me confidence in creating everyday that I can! :D

I know to some it's just a title, but I take advantage of the joy I find in things. I live each day as it comes, and I really try to enjoy life!  So if you need a pair of HAPPY PANTS which pair would you wear the polka dots or the swirlies? :D

Free Digi Image by JenLee

Freebie Digi Challenge at CDAC

What a gorgeous image from JenLee! Absolutely loved practicing hair coloring with this image & my Copic markers!

Peaceful Note

Clean & Simple and that's just how it is in the CAS Challenge at THE OUTLAWZ!

Sundays are the perfect day for a simple challenge. I received my new stamps and punch from Maureen with Stampin UP! I love it! I just haven't found the right sentiment yet for it. :D

Birthday Pops!

Does this card POP or What? I loved the sketch we were given for the Wednesday Sketch challenge! I am so pleased with this card. The bear I had previously colored on when I had first received my Copic Markers last fall. The colors were not good together and were not blending well. I saved the bear I knew I would use it for something! The House Mouse stamped image I also had created for a challenge I was going to attempt that was to leave your card in the stamped color and pop out a piece of it called a Spotlighting technique. I tried to pop out the cake but did not get the cut lined up right in the cuttlebug.

Love Is In The Air!

My favorite challenge the Color Challenge on Tuesdays! Okay their all my favorites!! Lol! But red is my favorite color!! I love the boldness of red. I have been practicing hair coloring with my Copic Markers   and just coloring image after image. Practicing black hair tones.

TIE Tuesday!!!

Take It Easy! It's Tuesday!
You still have all week to get things done. I have been taking it easy today so has The Pom Squad. Today is a great day. Today is when the Amvets come by and pick up your unwanted clothing or housewares. I have two 30 gallon bags to give. I know I could have had much more if I had went through closets yesterday instead of celebrating TIE Tuesday a day in advance. I am somewhat of a pack rat, I cling to items that were given to me even if I have no use for them. They were a gift and since I do not have the actual people in my life as much or if at all I tend to hang onto material items as a way of remembering our time together. Whether it be an old friend, a parent miles away or even a grandparent who has passed.

I have one or two items in my possession that I have dreamed about. I know it sounds weird but one item in particular was in a dream. I didn't think about it after the dream until one day I had stopped at an Antique shop or might have been a garage sale with a friend and I seen this item. Because I knew I had seen it before in a dream I felt I must buy it. I don't know why or if it has a special meaning but I have kept it safe up on a shelf ever since. So today I feel great about getting rid of some stuff, I love Spring and it really puts me in the spirit of cleaning out the old and refreshing my surroundings, which refreshes my soul.

I hope you are getting a taste of some of the beautiful Spring weather in your part of the world. Happy Tuesday!

Proms & Graduations

What have I been up to since my last posting? First off, my daughter brought her first boyfriend home to be approved by Dad so that she can be aloud to hang out with him. Her father is very protective of her. She had already been invited to Prom and hadn't even brought him over for approval. It was a stressful day or two. But we made it through. He has been approved so far by her father as long as he stays on Dad's good side we wont have any problems. We went shopping for my daughter's first Prom dress and shoes this week. I wish I could say it was so much fun! But my daughter is so unsure of herself that it will wear on your nerves after a while, but I try to stay positive but when I find something she looks absolutely adorable in and it's on sale I can't resist my excitement! I think that's what threw her off. I wasn't panic stricken so she didn't want the dress till her friends text her with their approval. We left the store empty handed.

I was sick to my stomach she has 3 weeks to get a dress and there just isn't any knock down gorgeous dresses this late in the search. We tried second hand shops and almost every formal apparel store in the vicinity and nothing. I found a store online that she had looked in locally with the most fabulous dresses they were pricey but I was struck by the rose colored glass Prom bug and was going to do what I could to get this dress at $400, I know CRAZY!! It is her first Prom, even if it isn't her Prom. There was no way I was ordering online this late in the game so I sent an email requesting info on how I can get them to order the dress and let her try it on before we buy it. I received no reply. That summed up how I would feel about the customer service at Serendipity. We did not proceed with shopping with them. Instead my daughter received her text from her friends that she looked good in the dress that I thought she looked so beautiful in and  her friend told her she should get it.  It was the only one of two in that style left and the only one in her size she even considered. Plus it was marked down that morning from $300 to $99! I had expected to spend at least 2 - 300 for a dress, but never thought I would get shoes and a dress for less than $300! By this time we were already eating dinner at home. But as soon as we finished we hopped in the car and boogied down to the store and bought her shoes and the dress. She will look gorgeous and everyone is happy!

Today, my son and I went to order his cap and gown for high school graduation. We have been searching for class rings as well. I completely never thought about him wanting a class ring. I guess he didn't think about it till today.  I know I am going to cry like a baby at his graduation. This would be his Senior Prom that my daughter is attending. My son refuses to take his girlfriend to Prom. I keep telling him his girlfriend would love to go and he knows but just doesn't want to take her. I am saving money there I guess. Lol!

Acrylic Skies

A color challenge using paint! Where? Over at THE OUTLAWZ! I new as soon as the challenge was posted what I had in mind for this challenge. I ordered this product from Stampin Up which I think it is acetate with printed images on it and this particular piece had a tree as well. I will update the post with  name of product as soon as I find that out again. Lol! I used Folk Art Acrylic paints for the blue, green, and purple background. The paints helped the white card stock adhere to the acetate image and created this beautiful sky effect.

Twins Birth Day

Here's the card I came up with for the CAS Sketch Challenge at THE OUTLAWZ!
