Oh my goodness this last week has really flown by! I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! My card above I have used my Cuttlebug embossing folder for the leaves, a flower sticker set for embellishments as well as some diamond gems to replicate water bubbles behind the bird, yes that is a window to look inside of the card, I made it using acrylic from packaging cut down to size and stuck in to place using double side tape, the digi is from PPinkydolls Etsy site. If you like my card you should see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this image, as well as our wonderful Guest Designer this week! Digitized Brother SE-400 Weekend

Oh my word! What a weekend! My computer had a melt down a while back and I lost all of my machine embroidery software. I have spent most of my weekend searching the house, my computer files, as well as online for software to be able to digitize my friends design. My first attempt in red from his original design. It would have been great had all those threads not been running all over the head of the wolf and the lettering. So, I searched on.

I found a free software. In the process of trying to get my image loaded into the software I used up all of my free trial uses and hadn't accomplished anything! That was nerve racking.

By some miracle. I tried another software that I had already tried once and just started fiddling with settings and it worked! My wolf head turned out like it was suppose to. So I added the text separately in a different font and it worked. The last step was to preview it in 3D.

It looks pretty good! The true test is putting it onto fabric, making sure it has the right stabilizers and all that jazz. There is so much to this I see why I have let my machine sit untouched for a few years. Unless you have big bucks to purchase all of your software, or don't mind using the cheesy free files they give you with your machine this hobby is not a lot of fun. :)

Master Carpenter T-shirt

The last few days I have been working on this T-shirt layout. I am making this one for my husbands business. He owns and operates a cabinet shop here in the Edmond, OK area. For years he has asked me to make shirts, but I was overwhelmed and felt I needed more practice. This week practice smak-tice I am going to attempt this!

First shot I cut too deeply but I didn't want to waste my pieces so I pieced it all on to the shirt.  That is why you see all the strips of heat tape, I was trying to hold my design and all its pieces together. I wish I had not done that, because in the process of moving the shirt from one spot to another my pieces became unaligned. I attempted straightening during the process but it was too late. I should have fixed the issue by starting over so that my colors would each be on one full sheet nicely aligned and one time shot at removal.

It still looks great even if it is a little off, which if my husband wasnt wearing it would drive him crazy to look at, good thing this shirt is for him! LOL!

Crochet Basket Weave Stitch Easter Candy Basket

I made the bottom of this basket a month ago and felt even though the pattern did not call for a handle it needed a handle. SO I added the handled in same coral color as the joining stitch at bottom of basket. Now this basket is complete.

Crochet Bobble Stitch Hot Pad

Finished up this beautiful bobble stitch hot pad yesterday. It is thick and would also be a great dishcloth with those knubbies to scrub with, either way it will Be very well used in my home! :)

Crochet Bobble Stitch Easter Basket

Happy Sunday morning to you my blog following friends! Today I am sharing yesterday's project. It started off as a bobble stitch hot pad. I was not very hip on the rainbow colors for a hot pad, so I decided it would make a better easter basket. I did not follow a pattern for this project, I made up my own as I went along and made it through entire skein of yarn with 2 inches left! Didnt have enough to sew the handle onto basket. I love when I use the full skein up on one project and don't have to buy more yarn!

Crochet Basketweave Easter Candy Basket

What I am calling "Operation Yarn Stash" is where I am gathering my yarn balls of scraps and turning them into adorable Easter candy baskets for no good reason at all! :)

Crochet Basket Weave Stitch

My first attempt at the basket weave stitch! I am loving the look of this stitch!

Crochet Easter Candy Basket

Today I decided to make it my goal to use up some of my scrap yarn balls. These little Easter baskets seemed like a good idea! What first was going to be a rainbow colored basket turned into this! I decided to add a little coral stripe around the basket for a little extra added color. Shown in photo below.
