17 Years of Marriage!

Myself, before the wedding, running late as usual.

Mr. & Mrs.
17 years of marriage today.. To start off, I have had to check and make sure my hubby is still breathing every day since Monday because he chose to not go to the hospital. I am used to hearing him snore but if he isn't snoring I am scared. It has had me a nerved out mess, yesterday my husband had to shut the entire cabinet shop down because there are so many roof leaks in his new shop it is unsafe to even work in, today my anniversary and my window decides it is time to fall down.

Supposed to have a romantic dinner with the hubby tonight had plans to go get hair/nails done today so I could look extra purdy, but oh well thats scratched he will have to deal with the way I am. I look like what I refer to as a "Wanda" which is a hag and unkempt. No offense to any Wanda's out there in the world. I feel like a major basket case this morning you'd think it was the end of my world but it has just been such a hard week for me, I'm mentally/ physically exhausted. Unfortunately you only look as good as you feel, I new I should have went and had my hair cut yesterday... UGH! If I looked good already then even with the bottom falling out from under me I could feel good about it.

It's A Girl! Diaper Cake

My 16 year old daughter helped me put together this diaper cake for one of her friends sisters whose all grown up now and having her first baby. It has a few more things to add in and some stuffing filler then I will wrap it up in cellophane and put a bow on it and call it finished!

TIE Tuesday

TIE= Taking It Easy Tuesday!
Yea, I just came up with that! I am taking it  easy today. I am feeling a bit under the weather today. Yesterday was so very stressful. My husband is out doing business today as usual. I just keeping praying he's okay today. I have been trying to occupy my time with projects today to keep my mind off of things. I needed to get my Daring Baker challenge recipe finished it is due by midnight February 27th. I also joined a Stick Pin Swap the other day at CDAC or Crafters Digital Art Center. Never used a stick pin in a card unless it was for a challenge but I was invited to swap, so what the heck! One of the girls from our neighbor hood has grown up and is having her first baby girl. I am making her a diaper cake, so pictures will be coming soon on that project! I am trying to keep busy even though I am not feeling like moving off the couch today. I am literally forcing myself to do things today. ;)

A Rough Monday

Today has been such a hard day. To start the day off I was awakened by my new sweetheart of a kitten, his claws going into my eyelid. The stinging took a while to get used to before falling back to sleep then having to wake up to take my son to school. Right as we were about to go out the door we hear a loud crashing and apparently the kitten decided he would try to climb up the cord to my Scentsy Hot melted wax pot and dumped it all over my antique sewing machine. I was happy that when I returned from taking my son to school a hairdryer seemed to work fabulous for the clean up. But just before vacuuming the large wax chunks from the carpet, I found my husband in the bathroom hovering over the toilet vomiting blood. I was in shock to say the least! He has had an episode like this once before over a year ago he says this time wasn't as bad. I hadn't seen the last time but this is scary stuff. He took it easy today but will definitely have to have an Endoscopy to find out how severe and to get this bleeding ulcer cured. After he settles down we get a call that one of the guys in the shop was injured from the table saw. My son comes home from school and tells me he spotted what looked like a little blood in his urine, my daughter comes home with an aching tooth and is complaining of a tooth ache. I am so frazzled. I am happy to say this day is almost over.

New Challenges

I have been tearing the paper up in here! I can honestly tell you I have ink on my hands!! Call me a crafter!  The top picture is what I created from Emily's sketch challenge and the bottom is from Clare's Card Challenge!

HAPPY DANCE!! I was featured!

How exciting I have been listed as one of the featured members it is so exciting! I would like to thank  everyone involved with  for giving me the inspiration to create wonderful projects!  A lot of changes were taking place at SSC at the end of 2010. I had only been a member for a few months and things started changing around there. Not that I cared to much, I have joined so many crafty sites in the last 6 months that it just gives me more places to look for different challenges.

That is until....  I was asked to be on the DESIGN TEAM!! I AM SO EXCITED!

I am excited to be asked in the first place I noticed most web sites ask for crafty peeps to send in the applications to be in their design team. What is funny even if I had been doing cards for 20 years I am not the type of person to put myself out there. If I am asked on the other hand it just makes it that much more special! :)

I love challenges and I know everyone else will love it as much as I do. I use to sit for hours brain storming trying to come up with different ideas. I new nothing and still do not know a lot about different products to use and how to use them, but the internet will be your best friend in this case! The challenges have helped me step out of my box and into someone else's .. so to speak, and to take away ideas for how to put the project together but yet put them to use in your own way.

I am very excited about the upcoming months of being on the DESIGN TEAM. (Didn't even get to do anything really- site sits stagnant most of the time)

It was a GREAT day!

What a wonderful beautiful sunny awesome day it was today,79 degrees, a free car wash @ the Boomerang, received my GIRL SCOUT COOKIES for me and to send the soldiers & had a great brunch with a friend I have known for 27 years but hadn't seen in 20, seen my husbands best bud behind me at the stop light after brunch, and all the sudden my power window quit working, what's up with that? Lol! I think he was giving me some of his bad luck for a second there. He's been going through a rough time right now.  But I called his cell and he pulled over and helped me shut it.  The next great thing is that Lenscrafter's replaced my son's expensive  lenses and frames for $25 , woo-hoo!  I thought for sure we were going to have to replace them both. While I waited on my glasses I went to one of my good friends from high schools work (Another Optical Store) and had a great time chatting with her.  I usually do not see any of my old friends but once every year or 2 and it was a nice change to my uneventful days. Then to top off a wonderful day I was asked to be a DESIGN TEAM member for Simply Scrapping Crafts! I KNOW! I am fairly new to the card making as you know if you have been keeping up with my blog, but I love a challenge! I think I can handle it!

Valentines with my Sweetie

One of my good friends works at a steak house, Gage's in Historical Guthrie, Oklahoma. I love Guthrie, OK it is like stepping back in time. I wish the city had more money to restore the buildings in a historical manner. I wish the people that worked in the buildings had to dress like that era it would really give the impact I would hope for in a historical city. But it is still an amazing looking town. It was originally to be the state capital of Oklahoma but it was disputed and Oklahoma City was set in the center of state. I had Oklahoma History class but to be honest I would have to research the exact details and I'm busy writing this blog so that's not happening... lol!

So on to my wonderful Valentines Day, my friend had us at one of the 3 best tables in the restaurant the window seat, when you look out the window you want to sing the theme song for Cheers "Where Everybody knows your name"... I think everyone new one another in the restaurant but us...lol!  It is one of those type of towns I think where everyone really does know everyone's names.

The view outside of the window was one of those old iron stair railings from up above and then with the historical building from across the street lit up with lights framing the tops of each oval window that looked awesome, I'd have to say it was a great seat!

Our reservations were set for 7:30 We arrived a little early and my sweet friend looked like she was bouncing off the walls. Due to it being valentines day several people had called in leaving her to wait on half the restaurant. I felt so bad for her. She truly was working like a dog she had already been there since noon.
I tried a few wines hoping to find one I like and we ordered the lobster & steak dinner w/salad and for dessert Long stemmed strawberry tuxedo's. The lobster was amazing! The steaks a little small, but it was still a wonderful meal. The bread oh my it tasted like it was fresh from the oven! Along with dinner, the owner of Gage's, I wonder if his name is Gage, any how the owner passed out a rose to each of the ladies. At first I noticed all the older ladies were getting one and I was beginning to wonder if I wasn't yet of that age to get a rose...lol! But as soon as I mentioned it to my husband during our dinner you know who popped up from behind me with a rose. No warning from my sweetie letting me know the guy is walking up. We have been married 17 years and still he has some learning to do... :)

After the romantic dinner, we headed home and watched some of my favorite Valentines themed TV shows that aired while we were out.  Before I new it I was exhausted and we were off to bed. I still thought it was a great evening, even if my hubby had no stories to brag about with the guys....lol!

WINNER of the Love Award!!

Wow, what an exciting boost to the ego! I couldn't help but boast to my husband about how someone actually really reads/views my blogs and has given me such a blessing of happiness today for thinking of me! The counter isn't the same as actually having a comment left on one of your posts!

Isn't it funny how your having one of those days and then someone you don't even know says or does something and your day just becomes so much brighter in an instant. This opportunity of receiving and sharing the LOVE AWARD seriously has made my day.. Thank you so much Chrissy at Chrissy's Cardland for thinking of me. I truly am feeling just giggly inside about this! I wasn't kidding when I wrote on Chrissy's blog that I had done my silly little "happy" dance over such sweet comments!

By accepting this award there are a few rules to follow.

First, to post this award on your blog and let the senders know that you have accepted their award in your post and then choose 3-5 people to send this love on.

When you have posted your Love list, let those people know that you have sent them this award through your blog.

I know it will not be easy picking only 5, I love so many different blogs. Can I hear a drum roll please....

Thank you all so much for inspiring me to not only begin a blog but to step out of my crafty comfort zones and try new things! I love all of your blogs, you truly have inspired me so much!!

It went by so fast!! It has been a year now that I have started blogging. I came up with the name OK Cricuteer when I started making cards for the soldiers using my Cricut cutting machine and I seen that others called themselves Cricuteer's so I thought that OK Cricuteer was fitting at the time. I have always loved writing in a diary or journal and now with the computer age I can do that via the internet. What fun! It is a little different than the days of when I had a diary, oh boy weren't those the days. The day my boyfriend decided it was his given right as my boyfriend to read my diary, and get mad at me for my written feelings. He was such a great guy (NOT!) taking my diary and destroying every ounce of memories that I held dear to my heart. Obviously didn't care about me enough to not be so intrusive. I new the day I broke it off with him it was the best thing I could have done for myself.
So back to the fact that this day is my 1 year anniversary of blogging! What to do! I want to give away something special to my readers so for one month I will be taking the names of anyone who leaves me a comment on this post and on March 5th I will draw a name and I  will announce the WINNER of my surprise BLOG CANDY!
The blog candy will be craft related, might be new Stampin Up products, Copic markers, scrapping supplies might be all of the above!

So don't forget to leave me a comment!

New Furry Baby has been named!

Well after a few days of playing with the new kitty I have decided on a name. This kitty is as sweet as candy and has the coloring of milk & dark chocolate so I named him after my favorite bite sized chocolate candies, Hershey Kisses. In this video you will see Hershey in his playful state of mind, playing with our youngest Pomeranian Bambilicious 'Bambi" Buttercup.

What have I been up to?

The January Blizzard 2011 has kept me indoors! I have taken a break lately from my crafting and have been either playing computer games or laying around being a couch potato.
