Watercolor Postcards

Hello friends and followers! Today I am sharing a watercolor postcard. I had a gift card to use at my local hobby store and on a whim seen this pack of watercolor paper postcards and I snatched them up. My initial idea was to paint a mountain scene or something but decided to look on Pinterest for ideas.

On the left the inspiration photo I found, I sketched up my version by looking at the inspiration photo. I am pleased with how he turned out, didn’t want to ruin him with paint, but that was the entire idea in the first place so I continued.

My watercolors are more vibrant than what we had in elementary school. All in all I am pleased with how it turned out.

July Challenges start today for The Outlawz Tuesdays Color!

My card I decided to do in watercolors. I have had zero lessons in watercolor painting, but I enjoy trying.

The beautiful inspiration photo shown below.

A little more lighting in the shot below.

Watercolor Challenge

Hello again! Today I stumbled upon this watercolor painting challenge. I had to try my luck! For my image I free handed the drawing from the hostess image in the challenge. I used water color paints, a black fine pen for highlighting dark areas, and a white gel pen to highlight the light areas.

The challenge can be found here

Watercolors

Yesterday, my hubby twisted my arm into buying the the Bright Pad by Cricut. It didn’t take much twisting as I was the one who brought up wanting one for my birthday next month. He insisted we get it that minute so I could play with it in my craft room. My first project was tracing this rose image from my mothers stained glass art photocopies. Once I had it traced I decided to paint it up with watercolors. I haven’t taken any classes on watercolor painting, so this was going to be a fun new project to attempt.

I started this project yesterday, and worked on it throughout the day off and on, only finishing a few moments ago, just in time to get to bed at a descent hour.

Watercolors

We are so pleased to have Dragons Lair as our sponsor this month on Twisted Thursday at Outlawz Challenges. This week our Anything Goes challenge has an optional twist of Watercolors. I colored my entire image with watercolors. My hubby bought me a gazillion plastic eyes for Christmas and insisted I add them to the frog. (otherwise I would not have) I asked for plastic eyes for crochet animals I make, something entirely different, but don't want to burst his bubble...lol! So here is the card!
