Happy Halloween Card 1
For this card I used a Stampin Up Bat punch, Martha Stewart Punch for the blood, Sentiment Anita Be Stampin, Cuttlebug Haunted House Embossing Folder, and a rubber wood mounted Mummy stamp

Happy Halloween Card2
For this card I crop lifted off the internet I used a tan card, attached strips of white torn paper till it looked like a mummy and added googley eyes! I thought it was a great simple way to make a Halloween card that I just had to share!

My favorite part of Halloween was the candy. I remember wearing a boys costume one year by the time my mother took us shopping for costumes all that were left were the unwanted costumes. I was He-Man that year. Most houses had no clue I was a girl till I turned around and they seen my long blonde locks of hair. I am sure being a "girly" girl, I wasn't to happy at the time but you do what you have to in order to get lots of goodies!

The Outlawz Come Back!!

Okay so I fell a few nuts short from the tree.. or whatever that old saying is...lol!  Those that know me already knew that! I have returned to my team at The Outlawz Greetings Challenges! I know you all missed me the few days I was away! ;)

I have plenty of time for work at my hubby's business, and can still share my craftiness all around! Thank you all for the wonderful farewell and even more so thanks for allowing me to return so soon while my chair was still warm and spinning...lol!

I look forward to seeing you all in the Greetings challenges!

What's On My Desk?

What's On My Desk? Well as I type this I hear little kids chanting "What's On My Desk?!!"  It's like my own theme in my head of course to my post to boost up my energy and write it with enthusiasm. :D

Yesterday, after having lunch with my hubby at our favorite Mexican joint in town, we headed over to one of my NEW favorite stores of all time... lol.. Bed Bath and Beyond!! I know I don't get out much! But I will tell you the very few times I make it to this store I see SOOOO much I want to buy! My husband was with me and he's worse than I am.. somehow he ended up with a Soda Making Machine! Just when we are trying not to drink soda and have as much soda pop in the house...lol! Oh well it makes him happy. He said he always wanted one... lol! The Root Beer's not bad. It's likes Shasta Root Beer in my opinion, he swears it's just like A&W so I won't burst his bubble. :)

So any hoot! Guess what is just right across the parking lot from Bed Bath and Beyond? Paper Arts! My local scrappers supply store! Oh yes! I wish I stopped there first! I felt so bad for as much we spent at the last store that I was just getting what I needed sticky tape stuff. I ordered some from BenFranklin stores online on Sept 8th, still have not received it, I couldn't do any paper crafting! So I stopped in Paper Arts and on my desk you will see on top of my tiny green shopping bag, my new sticky tape! I have never tried it but the owner of the store gave me an entire tutorial right then and there on all the sticky stuff I  bought. I felt odd with hubby right behind me but I didn't want to be rude, she was eager to teach me and I am eager to learn! Luckily his phone rang so he stepped outside. As I was checking out I seen it something I have been wanting to try and still haven't! Liquid pearls! AAAAAAaaah! I am so happy! Already used it on my newest project that I am working on. It's on my desk, on top of my paper cutter.

On my desk you will also find another rather large package going out, Flat Stanley waiting to go site seeing, peeking out behind my hand crafted clay name plate that Deanna, a dear friend, she made for me back in high school days. Peeking behind it is my newest Crafter's Digital Art Center Digi of a piglet for the Progressive Challenge! It is getting messier by the minute! Wait till my next posting! Lot's of projects going on in the future! Lots of messes to make! Weeeeeee!

What's On My Desk?

Tonight I wanted to try something new on my blog to fill in some of that dreaded blog space  you know the space between blog posts! Well who is willing to show off their desks after crafty time fun? I cleaned mine up tonight so I guess I cheated by posting my finished cleaned up version, but who wouldn't want to start their first messy desk post with a nice clean desk. You'll see as I make future posts of "What's On My Desk?" what kind of mess I get into during crafty time fun! I thought it might be fun to share so let's see what happens! :D

On my desk tonight, I have my donated cards to send to Trina my newest Martha Stewart Living Magazine, my newest card in purple that I made to apply for a designer position ando On my corkboard you may see a card you made if your a friend or blog follower of mine that has sent me a card! I decided to post them on my cork board as inspiration. I have more to pin so maybe in the next photo you will see a card you made for me. ;)

I had a hard time being able to get a picture taken of  What's on my desk tonight I had a visitor that wanted to be the center of attention... 

 

The Outlawz DT Farewell

I have been a designer for the Outlawz for a year and a half. I really loved being the Greetings Challenges team leader and loved the feedback from all the participants of the challenges.

This week I got a feather up my you know whatsa and decided to step down from the Greetings Challenge that I helped build to what so many crafters love today.  I'm not sure what I am going to do with my spare time now, I guess I should start on that much dreaded word called "work."  The bookwork for hubby's business has been building up to say the least... giggles! I would say that with all that has went on in my life the past few months its a few months behind. The accountant would sure appreciate my getting caught up on the stuff. Eeek! 

I must say though that stepping down from my team was the hardest thing next to coming home to fire damage that I have done all year. It seriously broke my heart yesterday telling my husband that the one crafty thing he knows I love I stepped down from. I broke into tears but my emotions this month got the best of me on my decision to step down. I want to thank all of you ladies at The Outlawz for your sweet remarks, you really made my day today reading all the sweet comments.

Sometimes you feel alone behind that computer screen and all along I let it slip me that all of you my friends, crafty colleagues, and followers have been there for me. Sometimes it takes a whirlwind of emotions to find out that you weren't alone after all. Thank you all again for these wonderful words....

National Apple Dumpling Day!

Today is National Apple Dumpling Day in the United States, Who knew! In the Greetings Challenges we are celebrating those delicious tasting apples and we want to see what you can create with the apple  theme in mind!  I just love this time of year! The leaves around here start changing to those beautiful Autumn hues of reds, orange and gold. Autumn also reminds me of bobbing for apples at Halloween, and going to pick up the largest pumpkin you can handle to carve and place on the porch. Not to mention the temperatures are much more doable for us here in the central part of the United States.  We are looking forward to seeing you dig out those apple stamps or embellishments and celebrate Apple Dumpling Day with us at The Outlawz!

I will miss seeing all the wonderful entries here at The Outlawz but have decided to step down from the team today. This will be my last post as a Designer for The Outlawz. Thanks so much to Colleen for allowing me to grow as a designer and as a leader at her site.

Cardboard Light Box

Okay so here it is my latest creation. I put together this card board light box out of tissue paper duck tape, and two $8 lamps, but I think I need another lamp for top instead of halogen. I think it has been working out nicely in showing the quality of my photos that is until I edit them in Photoshop and place my  text across the photo. For some reason I lose a lot of quality in the image in Photoshop.

 At Crafter's Digital Art Center they are having fun in the sun with this fantastic surf board image from Tiffany Doodles. If you hurry you to can have this image to play with. You only have till September 16th.

 Above is the card I created with the image. I paper pieced the surf boards and coated them with glossy accents to give them a  surf board feel. For the sunset I used a sponge dabber and some stamp pad ink. For the ocean I had torn off a strip of paper and then used the dabber to create a water effect.
