Watercolor Postcards

 

Hello friends and followers! Today I am sharing a watercolor postcard. I had a gift card to use at my local hobby store and on a whim seen this pack of watercolor paper postcards and I snatched them up. My initial idea was to paint a mountain scene or something but decided to look on Pinterest for ideas. 

On the left the inspiration photo I found, I sketched up my version by looking at the inspiration photo. I am pleased with how he turned out, didn’t want to ruin him with paint, but that was the entire idea in the first place so I continued. 

My watercolors are more vibrant than what we had in elementary school. All in all I am pleased with how it turned out.

For my card I cheated a little. I didn’t make a new card for this one. I had this card and already had thought I need a fun envelope to send it in. And looking in hobby stores, nothing. Then up come this challenge and here it is. A handmade envelope that matches my card.

The Outlawz Tuesdays September Color Challenge

 

Hello friends and followers! 

I probably say this every month but wow has it flown by! 

It’s already time to start thinking about Fall here in the USA. 

It is time for the Tuesdays Color in September at The Outlawz Color Challenges! I decided to use our challenge colors for this month in a Halloween card. This unique image is from Gecko Galz. The sentiment is from a Halloween themed stamp set from Anita Be Stampin it is called Broomhilda and has a set of 7 different stamps you may choose from. 

This fun paper I have had for over a decade I think, I have so much I do not need to purchase any more until I use what I have, sometimes I use design papers in cards that I may not have normally chosen just to get my stash used up. 

The sentiment is stamped onto a Spellbinders die cut.

Kit and Clowder June Marker Class- 1st Attempt

 

Such a beautiful scene..

I had a few marker issues on this 1st attempt. My marker left nice big dot blobs that kind of look like rocks right now. I tried to let them be happy accidents as Bob Ross would say. It is still fun to attempt to color up these beautiful images supplied by Kit and Clowder and top that off with the fantastic informative classes with tips and tricks are a must have!

Wood Burning Fun!

 

Hello again friends and followers!

I have had this cabinet door sitting for over a year with this image penciled onto it, so that one day I would wood burn it into the door. I have no project in mind for it, I just wanted to do it for fun. And to play around with my new wood burning kit.

 I wood burned a squirrel image onto a piece of pine I believe in the 6th grade. I tried again for a camp site sign for my husband and I. It turned out really good, I will have to find it and post a picture if I haven’t already. 

So this would be my 3rd project with trying wood burning.  It was fun and definitely kept me busy after work and on weekends when I wasn’t doing chores or playing with my pets.
